Quality Management Systems make an organization to be more effective and improve customer satisfaction

Cyberjaya, May 3, 2016 – Good news for Malaysian industries on the first newly Certification Body (CB) accredited by Standards Malaysia to provide accredited certification to ISO 9001:2015. This CB is also the first newly accredited CB to be accredited under the revised standard – ISO/IEC 17021-1:2015 Conformity Assessment – Requirements for bodies certifying products, processes and services. A photography session of the certification presentation was held at Department of Standards Malaysia (Standards Malaysia), and the accreditation certificate was awarded by YBhg. Datuk Fadilah Baharin, Director General of Standards Malaysia to Mr Steve Crockett, Director of GH Certification Sdn. Bhd., today.

"As the National Standards and Accreditation Body of Malaysia, we always ensure the credibility and quality of our accredited Certification Bodies are in accordance with international standards. Being an accredited CB under Standards Malaysia, it conveys a formal demostration of its competence to carry out conformity assessment for specific programmes. It instils confidence among the companies to be certified by a recognised CB. Congratulations to GH Certification Sdn. Bhd. on being awarded as the first newly CB to provide accredited certification for ISO 9001," Datuk Fadilah added.

This Quality Management Systems standard (ISO 9001:2015) was revised and published last year. This standard is more focused on risk-based thinking, putting greater emphasison leadership engagement, using simplified language and addressing supply chain management more effectively.

"ISO 9001 has changed little in the last 15 years so the 2015 version is a welcome and a massive structural change. It brings big business tools and practices to SMEs and allows them to "turbo charge" their business. GH Certification Sdn. Bhd. is actively advising clients to transition from the 2008 version to the 2015 version so that they can get the maximum benefit, as soon as possible. I believe that we are the first Certification Body to seriously and actively pursue this course to be "Localized and Internationalized" by exporting Malaysian ISO Certification around the globe, Mr Steve said.
